A possible glimpse into the Future

Ok, I have wanted to hold off posting about this issue until more infomation as to what cutbacks or changes which SEPTA and other transportation authories throughout the state would have to make as result of this issue. As you know, or may not know, the  transit agencies thoughout the commonwealth of Pennsyvania and PennDot has been facing fiscal capital budget woes. Well as result, SEPTA has released their doomsday scenerio if these budget woes are not address.  One thing that should be stressed is that this doomsday scenerio should not be taken lightly. For the past several years, SEPTA’s capital budget as well as other agencies thoughout the SEPTA has been reduced. Many of the projects to maintain the bridges, replace rolling stock [Silverliner IV] has been put on deferrment because there are no funds available.  If this funding issue is not resolved then the first line to be discontiued would be the Cynwyd Line [flyover bridge] and the Eywyn line in 2015 – both of these lines operates over bridges which are in need to be replaced or substituted. We need a long term funding solution now!!

Route 52 Changes Begin Monday

Starting on Monday, January 14th Route 52 will begin operating a new turn back loop in the Wynnefield Heights section of the city.  The new turn back loop for buses ending at 54th and City will be via 54th Street, a left onto Wynnefield Avenue, a right onto Cardinal Avenue, a right onto City Avenue followed by a right onto 54th Street to the present layover spot.  This change is being done due to numerous complaints about the number of buses operating on Conshohocken Avenue between City and Belmont.  With this new turn around loop only Gladwynne bound 52 buses will stop at 54th and Overbrook headed north.  There will also be no stops on the turnaround route between 54th and Wynnefield and City and Cardinal.

Altoona AMTRAN receives new Gillig Hybrid Buses

Ribbon Cutting of new AMTRAN hybrid buses

In October, Altoona’s AMTRAN bus system welcomed 3 new Gillig LF Hybrid buses to the fleet.  These Gilligs are AMTRAN’s first hybrid buses, being powered by a smaller engine (Cummins ISB?) with the Allison Parallel Hybrid System.  The new additions to the fleet will replace a few of the remaining 1993 Orion I buses.  One bus, 902, was painted in a special scheme in honor of AMTRAN’s long relationship with Penn State Altoona.

7251 Involved in Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)

7251 operating on the Route 18 was involved in an MVA this morning around 8:15 AM.  7251 was struck by a car that ran a red light causing the bus to crash into several parked cars and become pinned on the sidewalk.  9 passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital.  The bus operator was also transported with a head injury from hitting the windshield after the crash.

Incidents like this often raise serious legal questions—particularly if the driver who ran the red light was under the influence. In such DUI-related collisions, victims may have grounds to pursue a personal injury case, not only against the at-fault driver but possibly other responsible parties, depending on the circumstances. This is where a knowledgeable attorney becomes essential.

A Law Firm Ocala with experience in DUI and personal injury cases can help victims navigate the complexities of medical bills, insurance claims, and potential compensation for pain and suffering. With the right legal support, those affected can focus on recovery while their attorney builds a strong case grounded in evidence, accountability, and justice.

Beyond the legal process, managing insurance coverage is a critical part of recovering from a DUI-related accident. Victims often face medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and other unforeseen costs that can quickly become overwhelming, making it essential to have reliable insurance protection in place.

Reviewing your options and understanding the types of coverage available can help ensure that these financial burdens are mitigated. Accidents involving impaired drivers often leave victims dealing with serious injuries, medical expenses, and the stress of unexpected disruptions to daily life. The financial and emotional strain can be significant, making it important to have the right support when seeking accountability and fair compensation.

They work to protect the rights of victims, manage the claims process, and pursue the compensation necessary to cover medical bills, lost income, and other damages. This legal support allows victims to focus on recovery while knowing their case is being addressed with care and attention.

When accidents and injuries intersect with family matters, the situation can become even more complicated—especially when abuse or child custody issues are involved. In such delicate cases, guidance from Genesis in Scottsdale can help ensure that both safety and parental rights are protected, offering a structured approach to navigate these emotionally charged circumstances.
