Shortest Route

As of Summer 2024, the shortest regular SEPTA bus/trolley route is Route 6, which spans a distance of a little over 3 miles. This conclusion is drawn from analyzing GTFS data, considering the maximum length trip for each route.

While the 36B route, operating from Elmwood Depot to Eastwick loop, is currently the shortest route, it only runs as a bus shuttle for Route 36. This analysis provides a reasonably accurate impression of the lengths of SEPTA’s routes, despite some routes having diverging paths for short turns and other destinations.
