Finally SEPTA revealed the pilot Novabus artic in its FY2014 Capital Budget. Rumor has it that this bus will be on display in front of SEPTA’s headquarters at 1234 Market Street on Monday, August 12th, between 10 AM and 2 PM.
SEPTA plans to order 155 articulated Novabuses and 90 40ft Novabuses. All of the 40 ft buses and 70 of the artics will be hybrids; the rest of the artics will be clean diesel buses if SEPTA is unable to obtain additional funding to upgrade them to hybrid buses.
