Artic #7178 operating on Route 65/5201 (nightline) caught fire shortly after 4:00 AM yesterday morning on City Avenue just south of Bryn Mawr Avenue. The operator reported a fire in the engine compartment. No one was injured and Philadelphia Fire Department Engine 54 responded and put out the fire. The rear of the bus is melted from what the Chopper 6 HD footage on Channel 6 yesterday morning showed. The bus was towed to Berridge Shops where it will be repaired or scrapped.
