Altoona AMTRAN receives new Gillig Hybrid Buses

Ribbon Cutting of new AMTRAN hybrid buses

In October, Altoona’s AMTRAN bus system welcomed 3 new Gillig LF Hybrid buses to the fleet.  These Gilligs are AMTRAN’s first hybrid buses, being powered by a smaller engine (Cummins ISB?) with the Allison Parallel Hybrid System.  The new additions to the fleet will replace a few of the remaining 1993 Orion I buses.  One bus, 902, was painted in a special scheme in honor of AMTRAN’s long relationship with Penn State Altoona.

7251 Involved in Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)

7251 operating on the Route 18 was involved in an MVA this morning around 8:15 AM.  7251 was struck by a car that ran a red light causing the bus to crash into several parked cars and become pinned on the sidewalk.  9 passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital.  The bus operator was also transported with a head injury from hitting the windshield after the crash.

Incidents like this often raise serious legal questions—particularly if the driver who ran the red light was under the influence. In such DUI-related collisions, victims may have grounds to pursue a personal injury case, not only against the at-fault driver but possibly other responsible parties, depending on the circumstances. This is where a knowledgeable attorney becomes essential.

A Law Firm Ocala with experience in DUI and personal injury cases can help victims navigate the complexities of medical bills, insurance claims, and potential compensation for pain and suffering. With the right legal support, those affected can focus on recovery while their attorney builds a strong case grounded in evidence, accountability, and justice.

Beyond the legal process, managing insurance coverage is a critical part of recovering from a DUI-related accident. Victims often face medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and other unforeseen costs that can quickly become overwhelming, making it essential to have reliable insurance protection in place.

Reviewing your options and understanding the types of coverage available can help ensure that these financial burdens are mitigated. The official website of Simply Quote Insurance provides a useful resource for comparing policies and finding plans tailored to individual needs, offering guidance on coverage limits, premiums, and additional protections. By combining strong legal representation with appropriate insurance planning, accident victims can focus on healing and rebuilding, confident that both their rights and their financial security are being properly safeguarded.

Accidents involving impaired drivers often leave victims dealing with serious injuries, medical expenses, and the stress of unexpected disruptions to daily life. The financial and emotional strain can be significant, making it important to have the right support when seeking accountability and fair compensation.

In these situations, Orlando accident lawyers play a key role in handling the legal complexities that follow a crash. They work to protect the rights of victims, manage the claims process, and pursue the compensation necessary to cover medical bills, lost income, and other damages. This legal support allows victims to focus on recovery while knowing their case is being addressed with care and attention.

When accidents and injuries intersect with family matters, the situation can become even more complicated—especially when abuse or child custody issues are involved. Parents recovering from an injury may find their ability to care for their children questioned, or face disputes with a co-parent regarding custody and visitation. In such delicate cases, guidance from Genesis in Scottsdale can help ensure that both safety and parental rights are protected, offering a structured approach to navigate these emotionally charged circumstances.

Even outside the realm of family disputes, accidents and injuries demand careful legal attention. From negotiating with insurance companies to documenting medical records and pursuing compensation, having a knowledgeable attorney can make a critical difference in outcomes. Genesis Family Law understands how to manage these complexities, providing support that ensures victims’ rights are protected while allowing them to concentrate on healing and recovery.

Whether dealing with the aftermath of a crash or the intricacies of custody and abuse, skilled lawyers act as advocates and advisors. They help untangle the legal web, safeguard your interests, and give you the peace of mind that your case is being handled with diligence and expertise. In every scenario, having a trusted legal partner makes the path forward far clearer and far less stressful.

Divorce and family law matters bring their own set of challenges, often involving sensitive issues like child custody, support, and property division. Navigating these situations requires more than just understanding the law—it demands empathy, strategic planning, and clear communication to ensure outcomes that protect both rights and relationships. With careful guidance, families can move through these transitions with a sense of direction and security.

When navigating complex divorce proceedings, having family lawyers serving Menomonee Falls need can make all the difference. They assist with negotiating settlements, representing clients in court, and creating arrangements that prioritize children’s well-being while ensuring fair resolution of disputes.

The Aftermath of Sandy

UPDATE: Limited rail service has resumed on the NEC Line bewteen Trenton and New York.  All other lines remain suspended.

UPDATE 11/04: Full service restored on the Atlantic City Rail Line along with partial service on the Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line.

Amtrak now has e-ticketing available!

Finally, Amtrak implemented an e-ticketing system that can be used on all trains nationwide!  Customers can either print out their tickets at home, or use their mobile device to pull up the ticket to be scanned by the conductor.  This is SUPER convenient for those of us who, er, tend to cut it close when picking up the ticket for their train.

Just remember that this isn’t available yet for multi-ride or group tickets.
