RiverLink Ferry and PHLASH begin 2008 season

The RiverLink Ferry started service yesterday, May 3rd, for the 2008 season.  This service will operate on weekends until Memorial Day, and then will run seven days a week until Labor Day.  Afterwards, it will run weekends only until September 30th.

The RiverLink service started with a bang, with the Camden Rivershark's mascot "Blueper" greeting passengers for their ride across the Delaware River.  Also, the Nickelodeon group the Backyardians were performing at the Susquehanna Bank Center on the Camden Waterfront.

Also, the PHLASH "trolley" service began operating on May 1st.  The route is the same, but this year it will cost $2 per ride ($4 for an all day pass and $10 for an all day family pass).  This route will operate every 12 minutes seven days a week, from 10 AM to 6 PM, until October 31st.

New Flyers are moving around the system…again

In the past week or so, 5400s appeared on Midvale routes and 5600s appeared on Callowhill and Frankford/Comly routes.  The kicker is that 5837H was running on the 21 this morning.  Is this a sign of things to come with the new 2008 New Flyer hybrids arrive? Stay tuned for more details.

Neoplan runs revenue service on Saturday

Today, 3431 made an appearance on route 59, block 2001.   This is basically unheard of because the Neos are banned from weekend service.  The reason why the bus was in service today was because members of the Motor Bus Society were riding the system.  Later that day, they were transported to the meeting in 4 Southen buses, and rode the sytem a little bit more after the meeting.  Many thanks to TransitchuckG for this information.

New General Manager Joe Casey is certainly making good on his promise to focus on customer service.  This is why he created a new Assistant General Manager position to manage customer service operations.

Kim Scott Heinle was hired for this new position, and he will be responsible for coming up with new communication strategies to determine passenger proporities, creating a customer-friendly system, and motivating staff (such as drivers, cashiers, etc) to develop positive relationships with SEPTA customers.

SEPTA leases Newtown Branch to Montgomery County

Since SEPTA isn't using the Newtown Branch right-of-way, they decided to lease the lower part of the branch to Montgomery County for 1 dollar.  The county will convert the right-of-way into a multi-use public trail, expanding the network of trails in the county.

31S Discontinued

Now that 46th Street Station is open, the 31S service has been discontinued.  Also, routes 64 and 31 will return to their original routings before the closure of the station (the 31 will still operate via Walnut/Chestnut Streets).

Norristown TC Parking Garage Opens

Finally, the Norristown Transportation Center Garage opened all 522 spaces last week on Monday, April 7th.  Parking was free for SEPTA riders last week, and this week regular rates apply. However, those with a valid TransPass, Trailpass, or pack of 10 trip tickets will get a discounted rate.

The Norristown Garage will be open Monday thru Friday, from 5AM to 1AM.  Both SEPTA users and non-SEPTA users can use the garage, although the non-SEPTA users will have to pay more money.  The starting time for the intercity service has not yet been announced, especially since the waiting area has not been completed yet.

The recent opening of the Norristown Transportation Center Garage, with all 522 spaces now available, marks a welcome improvement for daily commuters and occasional travelers alike. With extended hours and flexible access for both transit riders and non-riders, the facility is designed to ease congestion and support smoother movement throughout the area.

Yet even with its fresh structure and expanded capacity, the long-term convenience of such a garage depends heavily on well-maintained entry systems, reliable closures, and secure access points that allow people to come and go without interruption.

As more garages and transit hubs recognize the importance of durable, responsive entry mechanisms, conversations naturally expand to broader solutions that support consistent functionality, which is where Urgent Garage Doors fits seamlessly into the narrative. In environments where steady traffic flow and user safety matter every day, dependable door systems and timely servicing become essential to preserving a hassle-free experience for both commuters and operators.

With this in mind, attention to maintenance and upgrades remains just as important as the initial construction, ensuring that facilities continue to deliver on the convenience they promise.

Property owners are placing greater emphasis on durability, appearance, and operational consistency when evaluating upgrades, especially in spaces where high traffic, security, and visual presentation all play an important role in the overall experience. Within this process, Garage Door selection becomes more informed when owners are able to compare styles, window configurations, and finish options directly against the appearance of the property before installation begins, helping them make decisions with greater confidence while ensuring the final result supports both performance expectations and the desired architectural character of the space.

As facilities age or experience increased demand, electric garage doors become critical components that require careful monitoring, regular servicing, and timely repairs to ensure they continue to support safe and efficient movement without unexpected downtime. This growing emphasis on dependable automation has shifted attention toward specialized solutions for electric garage door systems, particularly in environments where access control and durability are essential.

Services related to reparacion de cocheras electricas en torreon highlight the importance of skilled technicians who understand both the mechanical and electronic aspects of modern garage doors. By focusing on precision repairs, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance, electric garage solutions help facilities maintain smooth operations, reduce long-term costs, and deliver the convenience users expect from well-managed parking infrastructure.
